Rams vs. Cards Pick
NFC West rivals meet in Week 16 when the Arizona Cardinals host the St. Louis Cardinals at 4:05PM ET.
The Rams lost to the Texans 16-13 as a 14-point favorite in Week 15, while the combined score fell under the posted total of 43.5 points. Quarterback Keith Null threw for 173 yards with a touchdown and an interception for St. Louis, while Steven Jackson rushed for 82 yards on 20 carries.
The Cardinals beat the Lions 31-24 as a 14-point favorite in Week 15, while the combined score went over the posted total of 47 points. Kurt Warner threw for 233 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Arizona, while rookie Beanie Wells threw for 110 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Cardinals 14-point favorites over the Rams in Week 16. The over/under total for this game has been set at 43.5 points.
The general consensus might be to take the Rams in this matchup, given that they covered a double-digit point spread last week and the Cardinals didn’t. But don’t forget that St. Louis was crushed by Tennessee two weeks ago as a double-digit favorite, which was a game that also came on the road.
Our free pick prediction for this game is the Cardinals –14 and the under 43.5. Arizona is 13-6 against the spread in its last 19 games and 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games at home. They’re also 4-2 against the number in their last six games when playing St. Louis, although they did fail to cover as a 9-point favorite the last time these two plays. (Keep in mind that Warner left that game earlier, however.)
Arizona should drub a hapless St. Louis team, which won’t contribute enough in points for the game to go over. Take the chalk in this game, as well as the under.
Our NFL Week 16 Free Pick for this matchup is: ARIZONA CARDINALS -14 and UNDER 43.5.
