Panthers vs. Giants Pick
The New York Giants will once again put their playoff hopes on the line when they host the Carolina Panthers at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
The Panthers beat the Vikings 26-7 as an 8.5-point underdog in Week 15, while the combined score fell under the posted total of 43 points. Matt Moore threw for 299 yards with three touchdowns for Carolina, while Steve Smith hauled in nine passes for 157 yards and a touchdown.
The Giants crushed the Redskins 45-12 as a 3-point favorite on Monday night, while the combined score went over the posted total of 43.5 points. Eli Manning threw for 268 yards with three touchdowns on 19-of-26 passing.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Giants 7.5-point favorites over the Panthers in Week 16. The over/under total for this game has been set at 42.5 points.
The Panthers are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games on the road. Meanwhile, the Giants are just 2-7 against the number in their last nine games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games at home.
While the trends aren’t in the Giants’ favor, we love New York –7.5 in this matchup. The Panthers will be without running back DeAngelo Williams in this game because of an ankle injury. Without him, Carolina is going to have trouble sustaining drives.
The Panthers have struggled putting points on the board on the road, so we also recommend the under 42.5 points in this game. The Giants played extremely well last week and we think they’ll roll at home.
Our NFL Week 16 Free Pick for this matchup is: NEW YORK GIANTS –7.5 and under 42.5.
