Bucs earn first win

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers shocked the NFL world this Sunday by beating the Green Bay Packers outright 38-28 as 10-point underdogs. It was the Bucs’ first win of the season and one of the few times the covered. The combined total of 66 points easily covered the over of 43.

Seahawks come up huge for bettors

Depending on what side you were on in the Detroit Lions-Seattle Seahawks game, you were either celebrating a lucky win or furious at the outcome. With the Seahawks up by only five points with fewer than two minutes left in the game, the Lions +11 looked like an easy cover. Then rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford threw a pick six and all of a sudden a Seattle loss turned into a remarkable cover.

Chargers make last-second comeback

The New York Giants had everything in the bag late in the fourth, or so it seemed. Up 14-10 late in the fourth, the Giants intercepted Philip Rivers and were knocking on the door of another score. But they had to settle for a field goal and San Diego took advantage by marching up the field and scoring a touchdown to win 21-20. The Chargers covered as 5-point underdogs, when they looked like they were doomed.

Steelers beat Broncos on MNF

For one half, the Denver Broncos looked in complete control over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. But a stifling Pittsburgh defense completely shut down the Broncos in the second half to earn a 28-10 victory as 3-point favorites. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 233 yards while Rashard Mendenhall rushed for 155 yards in the win.
