Islanders Season Odds
Can the youthful core of John Tavares, Kyle Okposo, Josh Bailey and Blake Comeau produce for the New York Islanders this season?
The Islanders added Dwayne Roloson, Martin Biron and Matt Moulson this offseason, while departing with Yann Danis, Dean McAmmond, Andy Hilbert, Mike Sillinger and Ben Walter.
Tavares has already drawn comparisons to Sidney Crosby, although those expectations might be unfair at this point. He was an OHL scoring machine last year and the Islanders’ fan base will love watching this kid play.
While the future is getting brighter for New York, it’s going to take some time for everything to come together. Doug Weight is an invaluable piece of this franchise and will be counted on heavily to help in the maturation of Tavares, Okposo, Bailey and Comeau. Chances are that the Islanders will make some improvements this year, but probably not enough to get them to the playoffs.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Islanders 150/1 long shots to win the 2010 Stanley Cup and 75/1 long shots to win the Eastern Conference.
