2010 NHL Cup Odds
The 2009-2010 NHL Season is firing up and oddsmakers have made the Detroit Red Wings 5/1 opening favorites to win the 2010 Stanley Cup.
This offseason, the Wings added new faces Todd Bertuzzi, Jason Williams and Patrick Evans. Led by talented Ville Leino, oddsmakers from online sports book BetOnline have made Detroit a 5/1 favorite to win the 2010 Stanley Cup.
At 6/1, the Pittsburgh Penguins find themselves right behind the Red Wings according to oddsmakers. Sidney Crosby is currently dealing with a groin injury, but he’ll once again team up with Evgeni Malkin as the Pens try to defend their title.
Two teams that have favorable odds are the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks at 8/1. The Hawks are led by Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, while new faces Marian Hossa, John Madden and Tomas Kopecky will also help Chicago build off the success it had last season.
San Jose added Dany Heatley, Manny Malhotra, Jed Ortmeyer, Scott Nichol and Benn Ferriero this offseason. Heatley will skate next to one of the game’s best assist men in Joe Thornton.
The Washington Capitals are 10/1 to win, while the Boston Bruins are 9/1 and the Anaheim Ducks are 15/1. Some of the intriguing mid-range long shots are the New York Rangers at 25/1, the Montreal Canadiens at 25/1 and the Ottawa Senators at 32/1.
