LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Here’s a look at the latest 2014 AL Pennant odds to win, where the Detroit Tigers remain the current favorites.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Tigers are 3/1 to win the AL Pennant this year, making them the current favorites. The A’s, meanwhile, are 9/2 to win this year’s American League Pennant, while the Blue Jays are 5/1 and both the Angels and Yankees are 15/2, respectively.
Continuing with the odds, the Red Sox are 9/1 while the Orioles and Rangers are both 14/1, respectively. The Royals, Mariners and Rays are 25/1, respectively, while the White Sox and Indians are 33/1, respectively and the Twins are 75/1. The Astros have the longest odds at 250/1.
The Tigers (.585) currently have the third-highest winning percentage in the American League behind the A’s (.614) and Blue Jays (.586). Shockingly, the Rays have the lowest winning percentage in the AL at .397, while the Astros’ winning percentage is .414 and the Twins’ current winning percentage is .473.
Despite trading slugger Prince Fielder this offseason, the Tigers have continued to roll. They’re 31-22 on the year and 17-11 on the road, one of the best road marks in the American League. The A’s have the best road record in baseball at 18-10 and are 35-22 overall. They’re just 5-5 over their last 10 games but have won three in a row and have a 97.9 percent chance of making the playoffs according to ESPN.com.
