(The Spread) – Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew revealed on Tuesday that his left knee injury was “bone-on-bone.” His recovery from meniscus surgery is now expected to take four months.

The initial description of MJD’s knee injury was that of a routine scope that would have the running back ready to work out again in a fairly short amount of time. But now it appears that the injury was much worse than initially reported.
Jones-Drew played virtually the entire season with the torn meniscus. He did sit out the final two games of the year, but he gave it a go for 14 games and still put up solid numbers. It’s interesting to note, however, that Torry Holt and Antonio Bryant are two players who never got back to their pre-injury form after suffering similar meniscus injuries. That’s not to say that MJD will never be the same player again, but it is a concern for the Jaguars.
With the Super Bowl yet to be completed, oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have yet to release the future odds for the Jaguars. The Packers are currently 2.5-point favorites over the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
