CLEVELAND, OH (The Spread) – Browns receiver Josh Gordon is once again in trouble and has been suspended for the entire 2015 NFL season.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Gordon flunked yet another drug test and will face a one-year suspension. The talented yet troubled wideout was suspended 10 games to open the 2014 season after multiple failed drug tests and the Browns also suspended him for Week 17 of this past year for a violation of team rules.
According to Profootballtalk.com, Gordon’s latest suspension stems from a failed test for alcohol, which the receiver was prohibited from consuming following his DUI in July of 2014. The website also notes that Gordon is unlikely to be successful in his appeal.
There’s no shortage of drama coming out of Cleveland these days. Over the weekend it was reported by ESPN that quarterback Johnny Manziel lacked commitment in his rookie year. The report, which was conducted by Jeremy Fowler and Pat McManamon, stated that Manziel showed a lack of preparation and a “continued commitment to nightlight” during his first NFL season. The Browns also recently had to replace offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, who asked to be let out of his contract amidst tension between him and the front office over Manziel. The Browns replaced him with John DeFilippo.
