LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – What a difference a win makes, especially when it comes to the Stanley Cup odds of teams that won in Game 3.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Blackhawks are now 10/1 to win the Stanley Cup after beating the Blues 2-0 on Monday night to cut St. Louis’ series lead down to two-games-to-one. The Wild’s odds also improved following hteir 1-0 win in overtime over the Avalanche, as Minnesota is now 66/1 to win the 2014 Stanley Cup. The Wild also cut its first-round deficit to two-games-to-one.
Just yesterday the Blackhawks were 18/1 to win the Stanley Cup after opening with 8/1 odds at the start of the playoffs. The Wild saw a big jump too, going from 100/1 down to 66/1 following just one victory. Both teams will have an opportunity to tie their best-of-seven game series on Wednesday night when they host their respective opponents for Game 4.
The Bruins, meanwhile, remain favored to win the 2014 Stanley Cup with 4/1 odds, while the Sharks now have the second-best odds at 11/2. Following their first loss of the series, the Blues are also 11/2 after they were 9/2 heading into Game 3 versus the Blackhawks, while the Penguins are 6/1. The Ducks and Canadiens, who can close out the Lightning with a win tonight, are both 15/2, respectively, while the Blackhawks are 10/1 and the Avalanche are 12/1.
Continuing with the odds, the Rangers are 20/1, the Flyers are 22/1 and the Red Wings are 25/1. The Kings are also 33/1, while the Blue Jackets and Wild are both 66/1, while the Stars are 75/1 and the Lightning have the longest odds to win the Stanley Cup at 250/1. As previously mentioned, Tampa Bay is facing elimination tonight in Montreal.
