Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made Barack Obama a 4/7 favorite to be the United States of America’s again in 2012. Obama is currently in his first term as President of the United States after assuming office in January of 2009.
Since the news of bin Laden’s death broke on Sunday night, Obama is now 4/9 to win the 2012 U.S. Presidential Election, while Mitt Romney is 8/1. Mitch Daniels is 16/1, Tim Pawlenty is 18/1 and Donald Trump is 20/1.
Last night, Obama announced that bin Laden was killed by a small team of Americans acting under his direct orders in a covert operation in Pakistan. According to news reports, a team of 20-25 U.S. Navy SEALs under the command of the Joint Special Operations Command and working with the CIA stormed bin Laden’s compound in two helicopters.
It was there that bin Laden and those with him were killed during a firefight in which no Americans were wounded. Three men and a woman were killed along with bin Laden. The woman was assumed to be one of bin Laden’s four wives and was used as a human shield before she was killed.
