2012 Preakness Stakes Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – The 137th running of the Preakness Stakes is this Saturday and two contenders have opened as favorites.
Fresh off his victory in the 2012 Kentucky Derby two weeks ago, I’ll Have Another is a 3/1 favorite to win the Preakness, although he has company. Bodemeister, who led heading down the stretch at Churchill Downs, is also 3/1 to win the Preakness.
There are four contenders with 10/1 odds, which include Creative Cause, Hansen, Isn’t He Clever and Went The Day Well, who finished fourth at the Kentucky Derby. Optimizer has the next best odds at 12/1.
Continuing with the odds, Liaison has opened at 15/1 to win the Preakness Stakes while Cozzetti, Hierro, Teeth of the Dog, Zetterholm and Tiger Walk are all 20/1, respectively. Pretension is 25/1, Brimstone Island is 40/1 and the long shot is Guyana Star Dweej, who is 50/1.
I’ll Have Another paid out 12/1 for his victory at the Kentucky Derby, while Bodemeister was 4/1 when the morning odds were released. Went The Day Well finished fourth, Creative Cause finished fifth and Liaison finished sixth. Hansen was ninth at the Kentucky Derby and Optimizer was 11th.
