Prospective Derby Odds & Preview
LOUISVILLE, KY (The Spread) – Following a sixth place finish at the Grade I Blue Grass, 2012 Kentucky Derby contender Prospective is a 30/1 long shot to win this Saturday.
Oddsmakers currently list Prospective at 30/1 while Bodemeister is a 4/1 favorite. Union Rags has the next best odds at 7/2 while Gemologist is 6/1 and Dullahan is 8/1. Take Charge Indy and Hansen are both 10/1 to win, respectively.
As previously mentioned, Prospective finished in sixth place at the Grade I Blue Grass on April 14 but he did win the Grade II Tampa Bay Derby on March 10. Back in February, Prospective placed second at the Grade III Sam F. Davis and won the Pasco on January 14 of this year.
John C. Oxley is the owner of Prospective while Mark Casse is his trainer and Luis Contreras is his jockey. Prospective drew the No. 12 post position on Wednesday and will be flanked by No. 11 Alpha and No. 13 Went The Day Well.
