ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -The Minnesota Wild placed right wing Owen Nolan on injured reserve Friday with a leg injury and called up Krys Kolanos from their American Hockey League affiliate.
Minnesota’s game Friday night with the New York Islanders will be the 14th Nolan has missed this season because of the injury. He has five goals and five assists in the Wild’s other 17 games.
The Wild have a four-day Christmas break and Nolan could be out until the Dec. 28 game against the Chicago Blackhawks. They play at the St. Louis Blues on Saturday and host the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. The Wild have the fewest goals in the Western Conference, and Nolan’s production has been missed.
Kolanos was summoned from the minors for the fourth time this season. The center has 15 goals and seven assists in 19 games for the Houston Aeros.
