BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) – With the Buffalo Sabres already off to their worst start in franchise history, team president Ted Black is bracing fans to prepare for more rough times.
That’s the message Black issued Thursday during his weekly show on WGR-AM.
Saying it’s ”going to be difficult to stomach in the short run,” Black said the Sabres intend to stay the course by rebuilding through youth.
The Sabres (1-9-1), who open a two-game swing through Florida this weekend, are already struggling to be competitive with a lineup featuring six rookies, including four teenagers.
Buffalo has managed two or more goals just four times, has led in only one game, and has been outscored by a combined margin of 14-1 in the first period alone.
