TORONTO (AP) -The Montreal Canadiens were without captain Saku Koivu and defenseman Mark Streit for Saturday night’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs due to foot injuries.
Both players will be re-evaluated by doctors in Montreal on Monday once the swelling goes down. Koivu and Streit were injured during Friday’s 4-3 overtime win at Buffalo but played the entire game, with the two assisting on the winning goal by Chris Higgins.
Streit has a career-high 58 points (12 goals, 46 assists) in 78 games this season while Koivu has 16 goals and 40 assists in 77 games.
