BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Sabres goalie Ryan Miller was escorted off the ice with a bloody nose after being struck on the mask by a slap shot 3 minutes into the second period of Buffalo’s game against Nashville on Wednesday.
Miller looked woozy, and briefly collapsed to the ice after being hit by Marek Zidlicky’s blast from inside the blue line. Jan Hlavac, making his Predators debut, scored on the play by depositing the rebound into the open left side.
Blood dripped from Miller’s nose after a trainer helped him, and the goalie got up to his knees in the crease.
Miller then skated off on his own and went immediately to the Sabres locker room. He was appearing in his 17th straight game, and 59th of the season. He had stopped the first 13 shots he faced, before Hlavac’s goal cut Buffalo’s lead to 3-1.
Sabres backup Jocelyn Thibault came on in relief. There was no immediate report on Miller’s condition.
