PITTSBURGH (AP) -The Penguins re-signed right winger Colby Armstrong to a two-year contract on Thursday.
The 24-year-old Armstrong had 34 points and 67 penalty minutes in 80 games last season. He tied the Penguins’ record with three overtime goals and scored all of his 12 goals when the Penguins were tied or trailing.
“Colby is another young guy who plays with passion, gives us versatility up front and brings an added physical dimension to our team,” Penguins general manager Ray Shero said in a statement.
Armstrong made his NHL debut with the Penguins during the 2005-06 season and has 74 points in 127 career games.
The Penguins also signed centers Nathan Smith and Chris Minard, both 25, to two-year contracts.
