BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Fun time is over for Ryan Miller.
Saying his Olympic silver medal is “somewhere” on his dresser and having shaken off jet lag since returning from the Vancouver Games, Miller’s preparing to resume his job as the Sabres goalie. The next six weeks is about securing a playoff berth for Buffalo.
Miller returns Wednesday, when Buffalo hosts the NHL-leading Capitals in his first start since a 3-2 overtime loss to Canada in the Olympic tournament’s gold medal game Sunday.
Saying “it’s right back into the fire,” Miller took time after the morning skate Wednesday to describe how “surreal” it was to receive a standing ovation when he was introduced as the backup before Buffalo’s 3-2 loss at Pittsburgh on Tuesday night.
