VOORHEES, N.J. (AP) -Flyers center R.J. Umberger, who missed the last six games with a sprained left knee, is set to return and play Wednesday night at Pittsburgh.
Umberger, who has six of his 12 goals this season against his hometown Penguins, sprained his left knee on March 16 at Pittsburgh. He returned to Flyers practice this week and played with a brace on his knee.
“I want to be on that ice so bad and help that team,” Umberger said Tuesday. “The last two days I pushed myself pretty hard.”
Umberger has eight goals and 18 points in 21 career games against the Penguins, including a hat trick against them in December.
