GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -The Phoenix Coyotes acquired Brian McGrattan from the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday, trading a fifth round pick in the 2009 NHL draft for the right winger.
The 26-year-old recorded three assists and 46 penalty minutes in 38 games with the Senators last season. He’s played with Ottawa since the 2005-2006 season, when he set career highs by making 2 goals and 3 assists in 60 games.
McGrattan appeared in 196 games with Binghamton of the American Hockey League from 2002-2005.
The native of Hamilton, Ontario, was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
