VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -Vancouver Canucks defenseman Mattias Ohlund is expected to miss at least one game after injuring his knee during Tuesday’s 2-1 loss in Colorado.
Ohlund had an MRI while the rest of the Canucks practiced in Vancouver on Wednesday afternoon. Another update was expected Thursday morning, but Ohlund likely won’t play that night against the Nashville Predators.
Ohlund has eight goals and 22 assists in 50 games on a defensive corps that has been ravaged by injuries this season. Vancouver’s defensemen have missed 121 man games.
The Canucks also recalled rookie defenseman Luc Bourdon from Manitoba of the American Hockey League. Bourdon or Mike Weaver, a healthy scratch the last three games, will take Ohlund’s spot against the Predators.
Vancouver trails Nashville by two points for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
