MONTREAL (AP) Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will be out of the lineup for at least six weeks because of a lower-body injury.
The Canadiens confirmed the news on their official Twitter feed, adding he will not require surgery.
Price has been dealing with the injury for weeks. The injury kept him out of nine games earlier this season.
Price played the first 40 minutes of a 5-1 victory over the New York Rangers on Wednesday, but did not return for the third period.
The reigning Hart and Vezina Trophy winner has a 10-2-0 record with two shutouts for the first-place Canadiens.
