BOSTON (AP) – Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien has to juggle his defense for Game 2 of the playoffs now that Andrew Ference has been suspended for one game.
He isn’t saying who would suit up in place of Ference for Saturday night’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
But rookie Dougie Hamilton skated with one of the top three pairings in practice on Friday after sitting out Boston’s 4-1 win on Wednesday night.
The NHL suspended Ference for one game for elbowing Mikhail Grabovski in the head near the boards midway through the first period of the opener.
Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle says his team needs to speed up the tempo of its puck movement after having trouble getting it out of its zone and through the neutral zone.
