SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -Left wing Paul Kariya was scratched from the St. Louis Blues’ lineup against San Jose on Thursday night because of an undisclosed lower-body injury.
Kariya, who led the Blues with 15 points in their first 11 games, left St. Louis’ game at Anaheim midway through the second period Wednesday night. Kariya, apparently was hit by a shot, had an X-ray taken in Anaheim.
Kariya began the night in a sixth-place tie among the NHL’s scoring leaders.
Left wing David Koci, claimed by the Blues on waivers from Tampa Bay last month, made his St. Louis debut after sitting out the club’s last six games.
