COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -The Columbus Blue Jackets activated left wing Fredrik Modin off injured reserve and assigned defenseman Marc Methot to their American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse on Wednesday.
Modin has missed 47 games this season because of broken bones in his back and, most recently, a muscle tear in his leg. He has two goals and two assists in 11 games.
The 11-year veteran has 207 goals and 201 assists in 751 career NHL games, including 22 goals and 20 assists last year in his first season with the Blue Jackets.
The 22-year-old Methot does not have a point in eight games with the Blue Jackets this season. Methot, who was Columbus’ seventh pick in the 2003 draft, has two goals and an assist in 40 games with Syracuse this season.
