CHICAGO (AP) – Blackhawks forward Antoine Vermette is in the lineup for Game 3 of their first-round series against the Nashville Predators.
Chicago acquired Vermette in a trade with Arizona on Feb. 28, but he was a healthy scratch for the first two games of the playoffs in Nashville. He had no goals and three assists in 19 games with the Blackhawks during the regular season.
Coach Joel Quenneville praised Vermette for his hard work and says ”he did everything he could to prepare to get a chance to get in there.” Quenneville declined to identify who was coming out of Sunday’s lineup for Vermette.
It will be Vermette’s first playoff game in three years. The 32-year-old veteran has nine goals and nine assists in 58 postseason games.
