Jones stellar for Sharks
Martin Jones was fantastic in net for San Jose in its opening round series sweep versus Anaheim, but it started out in disastrous fashion for him in the Western Conference semifinals. Jones was yanked from Game 1 after he surrendered five goals on 13 shots in the Game 1 7-0 blowout defeat. Jones was average in Game 2 and Game 3, but in a very important game for San Jose he came through with flying colors as he saved all 34 shots sent his way in the 4-0 shutout win. Jones was 30-22-6 in the regular season with a 2.55 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.
Hertl continues strong play
San Jose center Tomas Hertl scored in the first three games of the series with the Ducks, while he now has goals in back-to-back games this series. Hertl now have five goals and two assists this playoff season. He contributed 22 goals and 24 assists in 79 regular season games. Joonas Donskoi, Joe Pavelski and Marcus Sorensen all scored one goal apiece in the victory. Las Vegas goalie Marc Andre-Fleury stopped 30 of 34 shots to take the loss.
NHL Betting Trends
San Jose
The Sharks are 5-1 in their last six games played on one day of rest. The over is 7-1-3 in the last 11 San Jose conference seminals games.
Las Vegas
The over is 13-1 in the last 14 Las Vegas games on a Friday. The Golden Knights are 13-1 in their last 14 games playing against a team with a winning road record.
Prediction: This series has been fun and unpredictable, which is what we expect from the playoffs. Back at home, Las Vegas will try to continue its great play at T-Mobile Arena, where it is 32-10-2-1 this season. I see a prime bounceback spot for the Golden Knights here. Go with the home team to take one step closer to the Western Conference Finals.
