The Panthers are 7-3-0-0 over their last 10 games but they’ve also had issues knocking off the Hurricanes, especially in Carolina. Will they flip the script tonight when they take on the ‘Canes at 7:30 p.m. ET?

Spencer Knight turned aside all 25 shots in a 2-0 Charlotte win over Bridgeport in AHL action Saturday. It was the first professional shutout for Knight who was sent down before the All-Star break to get in some extra playing time as the Panthers do not play again until Wednesday. Knight is 9-6-2 at the NHL level this season but the 20-year-old has struggled at times as he has a 3.22 GAA and a .898 save percentage. “He comes down with a great attitude and he was big and gave the guys a ton of confidence,” Charlotte coach Geordie Kinnear said. “That’s why he’s an elite goaltender, but the group in front of him did a great job too with paying a price to keep the puck out of the net. All around, a good team win.” Look for Knight to be recalled at some point this week.
Carolina Hurricanes DFS Spin
Frederik Andersen allowed three goals on 27 shots in Saturday’s 3-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild. Andersen managed a scoreless first period, but gradually fell into a 3-0 hole as the game wore on. While the Carolina offense did spark to life in the third period on a pair of goals by Andrei Svechnikov, their comeback attempt would finish up falling a goal short. Andersen, who has largely been brilliant this season, has had an interesting few starts of late, having now surrendered at least three goals in two of his last three trips to the crease. The outlier start in that space? A shutout of the Bruins. Fantasy managers need not fret about a slight wobble here and there. A Wednesday showdown with the Panthers shows next on Carolina’s schedule.
Golden Knights vs. Blues Betting Prediction
The Panthers are 15-37-2 in their last 54 meetings with the Hurricanes in Carolina and have dropped 14 of their last 20 games versus the ‘Canes overall. The home team is also 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams, while the favorite is 51-23 in the last 74 meetings.
