Mikko Koskinen stopped 25-of-26 shots in Thursday’s 5-1 blowout win against the Arizona Coyotes. Koskinen had his shutout bid spoiled in the third period by a beautiful shot by Dysin Mayo that rang off the post and into the back of the net. The 33-year-old was otherwise perfect on the night as he was positionally sound and made a couple of nice saves while his team was only leading by a single goal in the second period. Koskinen has an opportunity to steal the starting job from the injured Mike Smith should he continue to have performances like this one. He owns a 2-0-0 record with a 1.37 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage on the season.
Vegas Golden Knights DFS Spin
Robin Lehner allowed two goals on 37 shots in Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues. Lehner looked to have Vladimir Tarasenko’s number on the night as he stopped everything he threw at him up until the third period. Lehner was beat on a 2-on-0 between Tarasenko and Jordan Kyrou which stood as the game-winning goal. It is a very unfortunate result for Lehner as he definitely played well enough to deliver a win for the Golden Knights. However, the team in front of him has struggled to generate offense through three games this season. Lehner owns a 1-2-0 record with a 3.41 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage on the season.
