One of the hottest teams in the NHL right now is the Minnesota Wild and they will be in action at the Xcel Energy Center Sunday with a 6PM EST start against the Dallas Stars. Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Wild -120 favorites, while Dallas is set at a line of +100. The over-under for the contest is 5.
Minnesota (21-15-5) is riding a four-game winning streak as it has yet to lose in the month of January, putting the Wild right back in the think of the playoff hunt. Dallas (24-13-5) had a two-game winning streak of its own snapped Friday night with a 3-2 loss at the hands of the New York Rangers. The Wild are 10-9-2 on its home ice this season, while Dallas is 12-7 in road games.
Brad Richards (18 goals, 29 assists) leads Dallas into action, while goaltender Kari Lehtonen sports a 2.61 goals-against average. Minnesota’s Martin Havlat leads his team in points, while goaltender Niklas Backstrom has a 2.58 goals-against average in 26 starts.
According to the latest trends, Minnesota is 30-25 ATS when playing a team with a winning record over the past two seasons.
Another game of note happens in Anaheim as the Ducks play host to the San Jose Sharks at 10:30PM EST. Anaheim is a -120 favorite and the Sharks are a +100 underdog, while the over-under is 5.5.
