(The Spread) – An intense rivalry between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings continues Friday night, one of 10 games on the NHL schedule.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Blackhawks a -115 favorite, while the over-under currently stands at -115. Chicago is clinging onto its playoff life as it sits 43-28-9 overall and 19-12-9 on the road, good for the eighth spot in the Western Conference postseason picture. Detroit is 46-24-10 overall and 21-13-6 at home, firmly entrenching the Red Wings into the third spot in the conference.
According to latest NHL trends, the under is 5-0 in the last five meetings and is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Detroit.. The Blackhawks are 4-0 in the last four meetings in Detroit. The road team is 7-1 in the last eight meetings.
Detroit’s Henrik Zetterberg (24 goals, 56 assists) suffered a lower-body injury in a 3-0 loss at Carolina Wednesday night and is day-to-day. Jonathan Toews (32 goals, 44 assists) had the game-winning goal in overtime Wednesday for Chicago in a 4-3 victory over St. Louis.
In other NHL action, the Buffalo Sabres are -130 favorites and the over-under is 5.5 as they host the Philadelphia Flyers at 7:30PM EST. The Phoenix Coyotes are -120 favorites against the San Jose Sharks at 10:00PM EST and the over-under is 5. The Anaheim Ducks entertain the Los Angeles Kings at 10:00PM EST as well. The Ducks are -135 favorites, while the over-under is 5.5.
