Kings stumble at Sens
Los Angeles dropped to 2-2-1 on the season with a 5-1 loss Saturday at Ottawa. The Kings fell behind 4-0 in the second period before getting on the board with a Trevor Lewis goal. Drew Doughty and Jake Muzzin each recorded an assist on the tally. Jack Campbell allowed four goals on 11 shots before getting yanked, while Peter Budaj stopped 10 of 11 shots the rest of the way.
Matthews makes history
Toronto superstar Auston Matthews joined Mario Lemieux as the only players in NHL history to score 10 goals in a team’s first six games. Matthews accomplished the feat Saturday as he had a goal plus an assist in a 4-2 win at the Capitals. Kasperi Kapanen also registered a goal and an assist. Josh Leivo and Par Lindholm also scored a goal in the victory. Jake Gardiner dished out a pair of assists. Frederik Anderson stopped 25 of 27 shots sent his way to pick up the win.
NHL Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The under is 6-0-1 in the last seven Kings road games. Los Angeles is 6-0 in its last six Monday games.
Toronto
The Maple Leafs have won their last four games. Toronto is 1-4 in the last five meetings.
Prediction:
The addition of John Tavares has given the Leafs the most dangerous offense in the NHL. Los Angeles had trouble slowing down Ottawa, so I have no idea how it plans on stopping the Toronto train. Take the hosts on the puckline.
