Antti Raanta yielded four goals on 31 shots in Tuesday’s 4-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators. Don’t be deceived by the final score, here, as Raanta was down 4-0 at the end of the second period before Carolina’s offense made things interesting with a trio of third-period goals. While Tuesday’s performance was a letdown, Raanta has largely been a solid netminder this season and had not allowed more than three goals in any of his 11 appearances prior to being knocked around a bit by the Sens. The Hurricanes will mix it up with the Bruins on Thursday, when next they hit the ice.
Boston Bruins DFS Spin
Coach Bruce Cassidy said Tuesday that Tuukka Rask’s status hasn’t changed yet despite a report that the netminder is contemplating retirement. “I think that’s for Tuukka to comment on his stature,” Cassidy said. “I was told he wouldn’t practice this week. I don’t think that’s changing at all. So if he has something to say, I think I’ll leave it to him.” A report from The Athletic emerged on Tuesday that Rask’s comeback from hip surgery was not expected to continue and the Bruins netminder “may finalize his retirement decision in the next few days.” Rask hasn’t played since Jan. 24 due to what the team referred to as a lower-body injury.

The Hurricanes are just 2-9 in their last 11 games in Boston and are 4-14 in their last 18 games versus the Bruins overall. The favorite in this series is also 21-8 in the last 29 meetings, while the Bruins are 21-10 in their last 31 games as a favorite and 26-11 in their last 37 games as a home favorite. Boston has also cashed in eight of its last 10 games against the Eastern Conference.
