Calgary Flames DFS Spin

Jacob Markstrom stopped 28-of-29 shots in Tuesday’s 5-1 win over the Florida Panthers. Markstrom bounced back from a mini two-game losing streak in a big way against a tough Panthers team. The 31-year-old stopped 16 shots before allowing the first and only goal he gave up to Sam Bennett in the second period. Markstrom was perfect the rest of the way en route to a strong showing capped off by a couple of saves in garbage time at the end of the contest. He now owns a 13-8-5 record with a 2.18 goals-against average and .926 save percentage.

Edmonton Oilers DFS Spin

Mikko Koskinen allowed six goals on 28 shots in Thursday’s 6-0 loss to the Florida Panthers. There has been a lot of talk about the lack of quality goaltending in Edmonton during their winless streak, and that will continue for at least a couple more days now. Koskinen got utterly embarrassed by the Florida Panthers as they were able to shell him for six goals, many of which were stoppable pucks. Edmonton couldn’t put one past Sergei Bobrovsky, but they needed big saves from their netminder and he simply did not deliver. The 33-year-old now has a 12-8-1 record with a 3.33 goals-against average and .895 save percentage on the season. Fantasy players should only be starting Koskinen, at this point, if they need to hit a start-quota.

Flames vs. Oilers Betting Prediction

The Flames are just 1-5 in their last six games in Edmonton and are 3-7 in their last 10 games versus the Oilers overall. They’ve also dropped four of their last five games, are 2-5 in their last seven road games and are 5-11 in their last 16 games against the Western Conference. On the other side, the Oilers are 8-2 in their last 10 games versus opponents from the Pacific and are 22-10 in their last 32 games after allowing five goals or more in their previous game.
