Alex Ovechkin was credited with 10 hits and picked up an assist in Sunday’s 4-1 loss to Ottawa. Ovechkin set up Nicklas Backstrom’s power-play goal in the first minute of the second period. He also had four shots and one block in 20:15 of ice time in his return to the lineup. Ovechkin had to sit out Thursday’s game at Montreal due to COVID travel restrictions after he played on Tuesday versus Columbus. He has 60 points in 48 games this season.
Nashville Predators DFS Spin
Juuse Saros surrendered four goals on 42 shots in Saturday’s 5-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. Saros was working to a 2-0 lead about six minutes into the first period, but for the rest of the contest, it was all Jets, with the 26-year-old netminder yielding one goal in the first period, one goal in the second period and two more goals in the third period before he left the net empty. Saros was an All-Star this season, but has struggled out of the break, surrendering four goals in each of his last two games. The Capitals await Nashville on Tuesday, when next the Preds take to the ice.
