MIAMI (AP) -The Indianapolis Colts got a crash course in Super Bowl hype.
Reporters, photographers and TV folks jockeyed for space in front of Peyton Manning’s station at media day and security officials were called to settle things down. Receiver Pierre Garcon took the podium wearing a bandanna imprinted with the Haitian flag. Dwight Freeney showed up with his injured right ankle free of wrappings.
It all took on a life of its own.
Manning fielded scores of questions – some insightful, some inane. Garcon talked of raising money for earthquake victims and Freeney finally confirmed he was dealing with a torn ligament.
