PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Pittsburgh Steelers are rallying around embattled cornerback Cortez Allen.
Allen is in the midst of an extended funk. He was targeted repeatedly by Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck in last week’s win over the Colts. Allen was beaten for a pair of touchdown passes and also drew his season-high seventh penalty.
Coach Mike Tomlin says he’s confident Allen will be able to bounce back on Sunday against Baltimore. Veteran defensive back Ike Taylor says every cornerback in the league struggles but added it’s important for Allen to develop the ability to shake off mistakes.
