KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) -The Seattle Seahawks signed free-agent tight end Andy Stokes on Saturday and released cornerback Gerard Ross.
Stokes was the final player taken in the 2005 draft by New England after a four-year career at William Penn where he caught 104 passes for 1,578 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was cut by the Patriots and spent the 2005 season on the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad before getting cut during last year’s training camp.
Ross spent last season on the Seahawks’ practice squad, but was signed to the active roster for Seattle’s 27-24 playoff loss at Chicago. Ross, who attended Florida State, was signed by Seattle as an undrafted free agent in May 2006.
