METAIRIE, La. (AP) – As Drew Brees heads into the playoffs with New Orleans for a fifth time in eight years, he has a lot of familiar faces joining him.
Brees has been teammates with receivers Marques Colston and Lance Moore, as well as offensive linemen Jahri Evans and Zach Strief, since 2006, when the Saints went to the NFC title game. Receiver Robert Meachem and running back Pierre Thomas arrived a season later, were part of the 2009 Super Bowl team and now enter their fourth postseason with New Orleans.
They hope their experience together aids them as they prepare to make another run, starting in Philadelphia on Saturday night.
Brees says a certain pride and accountability comes with going through so much together. Moore says they have ”ultimate trust” in each other.
