ASHBURN, Va. (AP) – A rookie will start at quarterback for the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
It will be either Robert Griffin III or Kirk Cousins facing the Cleveland Browns. Either way, it will be a rookie who’s been a part of a unique tandem that has learned the NFL through an offseason program and training camp specially designed for a quarterback new to the league.
Cousins says he sees Griffin “more than I see most anybody in my life.” He says the fact that they’ve been able to grow together has helped both players’ development.
Griffin was the No. 2 overall draft pick. He’s been limited in practice this week with a sprained right knee.
Cousins was taken in the fourth round and has made two relief appearances this season.
