EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -Antonio Pierce is talking football only and says he will not comment on former Giants teammate Plaxico Burress’ decision to plead guilty to a weapons charge and accept two years in prison.
Burress accepted the plea agreement last week, some nine months he accidentally shot himself in the leg in a Manhattan nightclub.
Pierce, a linebacker who was with Burress at the time of the shooting in late November, was not available for comment on Thursday when Burress accepted the plea deal. With time off for good behavior, Burress will have to serve at least 20 months.
During a break Monday at the University at Albany, Pierce talked entirely about the Giants on the field. He said he would not answer a question about Burress’ plea.
