FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – New England Patriots linebacker Dane Fletcher is having a strong training camp after missing all last season with a knee injury.
Fletcher wasn’t drafted out of Montana State in 2010, but was a backup for the Patriots for two seasons. He also was a big contributor on special teams.
He worked hard at his rehabilitation since undergoing surgery on his left knee after being hurt in the first exhibition game last year. He says he learned a lot last season by studying film.
In this year’s exhibition opener, Fletcher played 37 snaps on defense in a 31-22 win at the Philadelphia Eagles and made three tackles.
He was on the field for only 12 snaps in last Friday night’s 25-21 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but made three tackles.
