CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -Carolina Panthers backup quarterback Matt Moore has a broken bone in his left leg.
Moore was injured during the final preseason game at Pittsburgh last week. He attempted to practice on Wednesday, but had pain when he tried to push off his leg. X-rays revealed the fracture.
It wasn’t immediately clear how long he’ll be out.
The Panthers did re-sign Brett Basanez to the practice squad Wednesday and released defensive end Angelo Craig. Basanez could serve as the No. 3 QB behind starter Jake Delhomme and backup Josh McCown.
Moore started three games for the Panthers last season as an undrafted rookie.
