CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Carolina Panthers coach John Fox says quarterback Matt Moore is “feeling way better” after sustaining a concussion and will start if healthy against Tampa Bay.
Moore was knocked out of Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants on a hard, blind-side hit by Osi Umenyiora in the final minutes, but Fox said Monday he may have suffered the concussion earlier in the game. It was Moore’s fourth sack and his second fumble in a miserable day that included three end zone interceptions.
Rookie Jimmy Clausen replaced him and threw two incomplete passes in the Panthers’ ugly 31-18 loss, which looked similar Carolina’s Week 1 loss last year that included five turnovers by Jake Delhomme.
Moore finished 14 of 33 for 182 yards and a touchdown.
