GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) – The Green Bay Packers are focusing on the role reversal they’ll face this Sunday night after beating the New York Jets on the road as significant underdogs.
Coach Mike McCarthy says the NFC North-leading Packers (5-3) expect the Dallas Cowboys (1-6) to be very motivated when they travel to Lambeau Field in the final game before Green Bay’s bye week.
The Packers hold a half-game lead over Chicago in the division and appear to be the front-runner despite 10 players on injured reserve and four starters missing on defense. The patchwork unit recorded the NFL’s first shutout this season with a 9-0 victory over the Jets on Sunday.
McCarthy said Monday that Aaron Rodgers’ ankle sprain was not severe and he did not anticipate him missing any time this week.
