GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -Defensive lineman B.J. Raji, the Green Bay Packers’ top draft pick this year, is staying busy during the opening week of training camp.
Just not on the field.
Raji is among a handful of players taken in the top 10 who remained unsigned Friday. The contract holdout likely will keep him from participating in the Packers’ first significant preseason action.
The Packers are getting ready for their first scrimmage before a large crowd at Lambeau Field on Saturday.
Raji has been in Green Bay all week waiting to sign a contract. The Boston College standout has passed the time by fixing up his new townhouse and cooking, his mother, Mamie, tells The Associated Press.
