EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning warmed up his throwing arm and presumably will make his 83rd consecutive start.
Manning came on the field at Giants Stadium on Sunday, about two hours before kickoff against Oakland, wearing his game pants and a long-sleeved blue T-shirt. He simulated drop backs and threw passes to Steve Smith and Domenik Hixon without showing any signs of the painful heel injury that forced him to leave last week’s game against Kansas City.
Manning’s condition has been diagnosed as an injury to his plantar fascia, the covering around a protective band of tissue that connects to his heel. He missed two days of practice but took half the snaps on Friday.
The Giants are going for their first 5-0 start since 1990.
