TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -Experienced linebackers Brandon Moore and Matt Stewart were among 22 players cut by the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday ahead of the deadline to reach the 53-man roster limit.
Moore had 22 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks for San Francisco last season. The Cardinals signed him Aug. 13 after he was released by the 49ers. Stewart, a former starter with Atlanta and Cleveland, was signed as a free agent after missing all of last season with a shoulder injury.
Also among those released was defensive end Joe Tafoya, who appeared in seven games for Arizona last year.
