CINCINNATI (AP) – Marvin Lewis says he doesn’t spend much time thinking about how he could soon be leaving.
Lewis is finishing his eighth season as Bengals coach. He declined an extension last year and will conclude his last season under contract with a game in Baltimore on Sunday.
Several of his players are free agents and acknowledged Wednesday they’re thinking it could be their final game for Cincinnati (4-11). Lewis is trying not to do so and he’ll talk to owner Mike Brown after the finale.
The Bengals have only two winning seasons during their eight years under Lewis. They lost both of their playoff games. His record is 60-68-1 heading into the final game. The Bengals failed to sell out their last four home games, an indication of the fans’ anger.
