MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -A judge says former Minnesota Vikings star Carl Eller was drunk and tried to delay an alcohol test during a run-in with Minneapolis police last April.
Hennepin County District Judge Dan Mabley also said police didn’t use excessive force in arresting Eller.
Mabley’s written ruling Friday added detail to the verdict he delivered against Eller from the bench Monday. Mabley found Eller guilty Monday of fourth-degree assault of an officer and second-degree refusal to submit to chemical testing.
Eller told The Associated Press on Friday that he was never asked to take an alcohol test. And he said officers used a Taser on him more than once. “Does that seem excessive to you?” he said.
